Consultation

 

It is critical that private child welfare agencies provide ongoing training and consultation to their staff and foster parents. I have been involved with Washington state child welfare for over 30 years, both in the private and public sectors. My main focus has been developing quality foster care and adoption programs with an emphasis on Therapeutic Foster Care and quality adoption programming. I have also been a trainer Solution-Based Casework, Children’s Administration’s Practice Model.

 

Consultation services offered:

• Assessment of current foster care program and recommendations for increasing quality of program
• Developing a professional foster care program
• Recruitment of foster parents
• Development of foster parent training curriculum
• Weekly clinical supervision for staff for licensure
• Case consultation utilizing SBC case consultation model, focusing on creative “next steps” to work towards permanency
• Consultation regarding the relationship with Children’s Administration Agency’s
